Opening blog...

So, I just got signed up on Xanga. Now a new life of blogging is to ensue. Where do I start? Who knows... Does anyone besides me really care?

I guess I just start writing about what has been going on in the most recent days. I just got a new 17" Powerbook that I am totaly stoked about. I had a 14" iBook that just didn't keep up with all I needed to do. I love wireless and laptops, and vow that I will never again use a desktop computer. We don't have cable TV (and I don't miss, or need it) but I can't imagine life without a wireless, high speed internet connection.

On the family side of things,I am realy enjoying seeing God work in the hearts of my children. AnaLisa (7 years old) has begun to ask to pray (she never wanted to before), and her heart has turned soft towards God. I have been praying for her heart towards God to be open wide, and to see this come to pass made me weep tears of joy.

Sophia (8 years old) has an extremely tender heart towards God. The other day she came out of her room bawling and saying "It isn't fair, it isn't fair". When I asked her what she was talking about , she said it just wasn't fair that Jesus had to die. I was able to explain to her how the cross created a bridge for us sinful people, to have a path to a totally holy and perfect God. She completely understood. I later sobbed tears of joy, thanking God (even though I didn't understand how) a person so small could be so sensitive towards the things of God.

Caesar is almost 2 and has huge eyes, an amazing vocabulary and a sense of humor that keeps us all laughing. I am so grateful for this little guy. Having a baby makes me feel young. The girls seem so old already, and just lookng at Caesar I see God's handiwork.

Church has been amazing. I have been having some really deep times sensing God's presence in our services (and even in just programming the details of some upcoming services). This last weekend we started a brand new series called "Stranger Than Fiction" that is all about looking at the claims in the Bible (basic apologetics) to see if God, Jesus, the resurrection, heaven, hell, etc, are for real. We did a song by XTC called "Dear God". It is a very dark song about a person, who due to all the bad things in life, can't believe in God. We had a drama that took place at the same time of people acting out their doubt of God. It was very powerful. It was actually very disturbing, which is what made it very powerful. Then at the end we had an invitation for people to take that step of faith, and accept Christ. Several people responded at each of our four services. It was awesome.

At church we have been in the process of programming our Easter services. I am bound and determined to work in "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (you most likely have heard this song in a movie, you should go to iTunes and download it right now) and "Let's Get It Started In Here" by the Black Eyed Peas (iTunes has a live version of this that is great. It's very raw but has all the energy). I don't expect this to make sense to anyone, but we will most likely use parts of both of these songs on Easter.

I have really been into the Black Eyed Peas lately. They are amazing musically. Check out these live "in-studio" versions on AOL (free to watch and listen to) go to

then click on the "AOL Sessions gig" and then select the videos button. I love to see how a group can pull off "live" a very processed recording. There is a slight possibility that I may be getting front row seats to an upcomming Peas concert in LA. I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I've got a friend, who has a friend, and... well you know the rest.

That's all for for know. Gotta go.
